Let's be honest, if you sell widgets for a few pence
- and individual consumers only need one widget - then
a PPC based marketing campaign costing a few pence per
click could easily out-strip not only your profit, but
actually put your business into a loss making situation.
In that situation, it may be prudent to consider other
more conventional forms of advertising, or by generating
excellent organic listings within the major search engines,
or by requesting free listings on a number of well placed
marketing portals, of which there are many.
Generating organic listings has become a little more
hit and miss now that PPC has arrived on the scene, but
can still be achieved if you know what you're doing.
We generate highly placed organic listings on a huge
number of search terms - but the situation does need constant
monitoring and tweaking to maintain a good position for
any length of time - if you're promised a page 1 listing
on Google for instance, that might only be for this week!!!
Any organic listings worth anything will be fought over
constantly, by your competition - and you will need to
do the same.
